The Director will develop, teach and coordinate undergraduate concentrations and online graduate certificates in Applied Vehicle Cybersecurity, as well as to identify opportunities for new programming and delivery to meet industry needs. Additionally, the Director shall coordinate with other institutions and industry partners to develop world class curriculum.
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and enthusiastic student-centered administrator, engaging in best practices for engaged online learning and student success, with a demonstrated commitment to supporting a diverse population of students.
This is a grant-based position, therefore employment will conclude at the end of the grant period or when the funding has been expended.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Director will engage in activities related to the successful establishment, administration and delivery of high-quality professional engineering program in cybersecurity and increasing connections with industry (Automotive and Defense) , including:
(1) Establish events and communications to recruit potential students and establish the University’s reputation in Cybersecurity. Support program marketing, outreach, and industry relationships.
(2) Maintaining strong ties to key industry partners and develop new industry relationships in critical markets both in the Defense and Automotive Industry
(3) Recruiting, academic oversight, curriculum development and execution.
(4) Assist with identifying and monitoring adjunct faculty, course load assignments, course offerings, and teaching up to 1 or 2 courses per year.
(5) Support reporting requirements and other activities for grant funding supporting Cybersecurity programming.
(6) Assist with managing budget and resources for the program.
(7) Maintaining program standards, curricular oversight, and reporting as required by University, College, and accrediting bodies.
(8) Cultivating best practices and innovation in instructional delivery and design to support better learning outcomes for students and professional development for instructors.
(9) Identifying and facilitating strategic opportunities for new programming and innovative delivery of learning experiences in consultation with industry partners
(10) Working collaboratively and effectively to promote teamwork, diversity, equity and inclusiveness.
(11) Optimize use of Center for Automotive Systems Engineering Education and other strategic facilities.
(12) Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the College of Engineering & Science.
• A minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant discipline is required.
• Master’s degree in a relevant Engineering field preferred.
• Experience in industry and an academic setting preferred.
• Familiarity with teaching in an online environment preferred.

Commensurate with experience
Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with occasional nights and weekends.
