One Bead offers entrepreneurial enrichment programming to students in grades 2–8. We work primarily in communities of color and currently serve students at six public schools and two charter schools in the Greater Boston Area. At One Bead, we believe every child has a right to exceptional enrichment programming. As part of our commitment to equity, One Bead’s partnership model includes support services (informational sessions, technology support, etc.) for families. These services are offered in various languages and designed to make our programming more accessible. Families new to One Bead can see what we are all about by participating in our Local Leader Spotlight (LLS) series. An LLS is a 30-minute interview featuring a BIPOC entrepreneur, innovator, and/or leader in the community. The interviews take place on Zoom in front of a live audience made up of students from across the city. From there, families have the option to enroll their child in our signature enrichment program, typically framed as a deep dive into social entrepreneurship for elementary and middle schoolers. This semester-long program builds confidence in young students through a combination of public speaking and community engagement.
