Join Lead For America. Help build the next generation of transformational community changemakers.
WHO WE ARE
Lead for America works to ensure that our country’s most dynamic and diverse young leaders are working on our toughest challenges. We believe that with the right leadership in the right places, we can reimagine the American Dream in a way that is:
1) Shared. Where we all have strong communal ties and a common aspiration of equity and justice for all.
2) Accessible. Where everyone has a chance at economic and civic mobility, no matter their zip code; and
3) Sustainable. Where our education system and public institutions are well positioned to grow and sustain the next generation of leadership that will be responsible for solving problems that we cannot yet see.
Lead for America’s flagship program is the Lead for America Fellowship, which selects, trains, and places our nation’s most promising young leaders in two-year paid fellowships in local community organizations – such as local government, nonprofits, and community-based businesses – as a means of strengthening America’s public institutions, revitalizing our local communities, and cultivating a new generation of transformational community leaders.
This fall, Lead For America is seeking outstanding undergraduates to become College Chapter Founders.
COLLEGE CHAPTER FOUNDERS
Chapter Founders spearhead the launch of an LFA Chapter at their school. Founders launch an LFA GovChallenge and exercise creative autonomy to choose how their chapter will be organized and the types of programs that will be the most beneficial to their community. To ensure chapters are successful upon launch, Chapter Founders commit to their role for one full academic year.
