Candidates must be accepted into one of the Graduate Programs here at Lander University prior to beginning the position.
Compensation: Selected candidate will receive a 50% tuition and fee waiver as well as a $3000 stipend per semester. Note that if the GA position does not relate directly to their graduate studies the student will be taxed on the stipend and tuition benefits. Graduate Assistants work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. Graduate Assistantships may be renewed for one additional year.
GA Primary Responsibilities:
The College of Business is seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants (TA) to assist business faculty in online high enrollment courses. The TA would assist the faculty member of record in answering student emails and in-course discussions. TAs would also be available for virtual office hours and tutoring sessions on a weekly basis. Each TA would split their 20 hours of weekly assignments through two dedicated sections (10 hours each) to assist a faculty member. The courses dedicated for TAs are ECON 101 (Economics in Society), BA 101 (Introduction to Business), and all professional development courses (BA 299,399,499). TAs would need to be proficient and knowledgeable in these subject areas in order to qualify as a TA candidate. A TA in the College of Business would also be required to be a recently accepted or current enrolled graduate student within a graduate business program with the college in order to be eligible for the position.
