Candidates must be accepted into one of the Graduate Programs here at Lander University prior to beginning the position.
Compensation: Selected candidate will receive a 50% tuition and fee waiver as well as a $3000 stipend per semester. Note that if the GA position does not relate directly to their graduate studies the student will be taxed on the stipend and tuition benefits. Graduate Assistants work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. Graduate Assistantships may be renewed for one additional year.
Write and schedule social media and web content in support of graduate and online undergraduate programs. The GA will complete a set of social media training activities including training provided by Hootsuite and use Hootsuite as the primary tool for posting to social platforms. The GA will work in collaboration with any undergraduate student workers who are also working on social media and web content for the College of Graduate and Online Studies. In addition to writing and scheduling social posts, the GA will also conduct interviews for, and write profiles of faculty members, student testimonials, and similar short articles for publication on Lander web pages and/or in Lander print materials. While the GA will work for and report to the dean of the College of Graduate and Online Studies, he or she will be expected to collaborate with employees housed in University Relations, including the university’s Marketing and Brand Strategist.
