NewsDepth, a weekly interactive television program produced by WVIZ/PBS ideastream, breaks down the biggest news stories into teachable lessons for 4th to 6th grade students.
The show provides cross-curricular and real-world learning opportunities that spark great class discussions.
Beyond covering current events, NewsDepth features special segments on Ohio history, science, civics and art that align with Ohio learning standards.
Interns will assist in production tasks, including but not limited to researching, script writing, camera work and editing. Video production skills are not necessary, but definitely help.
Duration: Fall/Spring and/or Summer semester; minimum of 12 hours; college credit available
ideastream offers a variety of internships at our offices in Cleveland, Ohio. ideastream seeks curious people to learn about careers in multiple media, public broadcasting and non-profit management. Interns receive hands-on training in our state-of-the-art studios and are mentored by our award-winning staff. ideastream provides integrated programming designed to appeal to diverse audiences and expand value to our communities.
In order to qualify for these non-paying experiences, you must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and you must be able to receive credit for the internship. You must be available for 12-24 hours weekly for a school term, or the length of time required by your educational program.
