Griffin Technology Academies is a family of 4 exceptional charter middle and high schools dedicated to helping every one of our diverse, primarily low-income students make transformative growth in academic achievement, self-understanding and management, career preparation, and active citizenship. Founded in 1999, GTA schools now serve 1,250 students (growing to 1,900 by 2023) and have proven that all students can excel, given high expectations and high levels of support in an inclusive and equitable environment.
With charters based on high expectations and applied research, our newest middle and high schools (Griffin Academy) feature blended learning, using the Summit Learning model with an emphasis on technology. The early college high school, opened in August 2020, is designed to deliver a high school diploma and (free) AA degree in 4 years. Our legacy middle and high schools (MIT Academy) are more traditional and employ standards-based grading, significant dual-enrollment, and an extensive Response To Intervention.
