Looking for a Gap Year Opportunity? Want to help students reach their full potential? How about an education award to help pay for grad school or pay down those student loans? Worried you don’t have the necessary experience? No need to worry about that!
We provide all the necessary training to ensure your success as an AmeriCorps Ohio College Guide! This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to your community, serve students, and earn an education award of $6,345! Networking opportunities, professional development, and resume building are an added benefit of this program!
The AmeriCorps Ohio College Guides maintains that all students deserve equal access to educational opportunities. The goal of the College Guides is to ensure that students, especially typically under served students – first generation college going, low-income, and minority – get the information and knowledge they need and deserve to make educated decisions and plans for their future.
As an AmeriCorps initiative, members of the Ohio College Guides undergo ample training, and are provided with valuable professional development, networking, and guidance and support with career and graduate study goals. Members serve full-time, or 1,700 hours over 11 months and in return, receive a modest living allowance (up to $15,100), health insurance, and an Educational Award (up to $6,345) upon completion of the full-time commitment.
