The Cheadle Lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is inviting applications from highly motivated candidates for a postdoctoral position investigating interactions between neurons and immune cells (microglia) in the developing brain. We employ a unique multidisciplinary strategy to study these interactions that merges two-photon imaging in the brains of live awake mice, single-cell or low input genomics, and standard molecular and cell biological approaches. We seek an enthusiastic and independent lab member to lead a high-impact project focused on defining the mechanisms underlying microglial function in mouse and human brains. Candidates from non-traditional and/or underrepresented backgrounds, broadly defined, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Position RequirementsApplicants should have a PhD in neuroscience, immunology, cell biology, genetics, computational biology, or a related field. While we are seeking a dynamic scientist that will be a lively addition to our team rather than focusing on a specific area of expertise, experience in one of the following is encouraged: computational biology, electrophysiology, CRISPR screens, and/or mouse models of neurological disease.
Interested candidates should e-mail their application to firstname.lastname@example.org as a single pdf file with subject: Postdoc Application. The application file should include: (1) CV with the publication list, (2) a brief description of research interests, (3) contact information for three references.
In addition, the candidates should upload their application online at: https://cshl.peopleadmin.com/postings/18047 Position ID 02898-R
