If you are interested in making your time at camp into an internship, please let us know. We would be happy to work with you on that. There is also some scholarship and student loan assistance available when you work at Camp Westminster for the summer.
Things you could do at Camp Westminster this summer:
Responsible for the emotional, physical, and social well-being of a group of campers aged 7-17. You will lead activities, encourage connections, and be a role model for all campers (this category includes counselors that are already trained or willing to be trained as lifeguards and/or ropes facilitators).
Help create and schedule day and evening programming for campers and counselors, assist in leading staff training, ensure that a proper ratio of campers and counselor is met in all activities and assist where needed in other office duties.
Arts and Crafts Specialist
Create age-appropriate arts and crafts plans for Choose-Its and activity sessions, maintain cleanliness in arts and crafts cabin, ensure campers take home their crafts at the end of the week, and assist with decorations for special days (i.e. Christmas in July).
Expedition and Out Trip Coordinator
Organize and oversee all Out Trips, manage site reservations, communicate bus usage for trips, assist in scheduling, packing, and ordering food for trips, and go on trips as necessary.
Ensure health of all campers and staff, respond to medical emergencies, administer medication, ensure that Health Office is in compliance with Michigan Licensing and ACA standards.
Ensure waterfront is in compliance with Michigan Licensing and ACA standards, monitor all water activities, maintain lifeguard certifications, maintain cleanliness of Waterfront Office.
Office/Camp Store Manager
Mange check-in and check-out procedures for campers, answer parent questions, inventory Camp Store and order things as needed, keep the business office organized.
Photographer/Media/Social Media Specialist
Take pictures and video of all camp activities and all camp areas throughout the summer, edit photos as needed, upload photos for camp to use, create social media posts.
Worship/Bible Quest Coordinator
Serve as point person for Bible Quest information, create camper Bible Quest weekly, organize supplies, assist in creating bulletin for Sunday worship.
Coordinate LifeWorks Leadership Program through recruitment, organizing program activities, assisting in planning out trips, and ensuring positive experiences for campers.
Maintain certification of ropes instructor, inspect ropes courses for safety, serve as leader for all guest groups.
Outdoor Education/Nature Specialist
Create programming/lesson plans for Nature Choose-it and activity sessions, and ensure cleanliness of Nature Cabin.
Create programming/lesson plans for the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) camp, Choose-Its, and activity sessions.
Play instrument for Bible Quest, Vespers, and Sunday Worship as needed.
Teach campers sailing basics and/or advanced sailing techniques based on ability, maintain sailboats and sailing equipment, maintain powerboats, and ensure cleanliness of Senior Log.
All positions are contracted from June 4th-August 8th unless otherwise determined by director.
