About Camp Weequahic:
Camp Weequahic, a residential camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 16 years old in Lakewood, PA, is searching for line cooks to prepare and serve meals to our 600+ community members. This is a great job opportunity for experienced kitchen staff to further their skills an awesome summer camp environment. The dates of employment are June 11 – August 9, 2021.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
*Working with executive chef, assistant chef and sous chef staff to prepare, and serve all meals for campers, staff, and guests
*Assisting in receiving all orders, stocking of kitchen products and maintaining accurate daily inventory
*Assisting with the opening and closing of the kitchen
*Presenting and serving of all food, quickly and efficiently
*Assisting in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic, and tidy at all times
*Assisting in cooking all special need meals – celiac, dairy-free, etc.
*Helping with salad bar- make specialty salads, train workers, trouble-shoot, provide guidance to salad bar personnel.
*Cleaning the kitchen and dishes after each meal and restoring order before the next meal is served.
This contract offers a competitive salary based on experience and includes travel expense reimbursement, housing, staff shirts, laundry service, three meals a day (plus snacks!) and WiFi.
During days off, staff spend their time hiking, spending a day exploring nearby Scranton–shopping or seeing a show, and taking in everything Pennsylvania has to offer. If you decide to stay on camp, staff can hang out in our staff lounge, workout in the fitness center, or use sailboats, kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddle boards on the lake or just relax on the beach at the waterfront.
