Professor Welsch (History) is seeking two Research Assistants for Summer 2024 to contribute to an ongoing international research project, “Sailing with the French: Labour, Trade, and Mobility in the 18th-century Indian Ocean.” This project is an exploration of the French imperial presence in the Indian Ocean that seeks to visualize and to analyze records relating to the movement of individuals and of ships connected to the French East India Company in the eighteenth century.
